Creating Asset Categories

Besides Regulait's built in options for Categorizing Assets (ie. Model, Manufacture, Type), we can easily add new options in two ways.

Inside an Asset Information Window

While editing or adding an Asset, we can select 'Add New' inside an Asset category drop down menu, instead of selecting from the drop down list (marked with an arrow below).

Now simply name the new Model.

The new Model type added is now a permanent Model in our Model list.

Using Asset Settings

On an Asset category page, click Settings (marked with an arrow below).

Now we can select a field to edit, or create a custom field.

On the Manufacturer page, you can update manufacturer information, delete a manufacturer, and check how many assets are associated with that specific manufacturer.

Notice: Editing a Manufacturer's name, changes it for all Assets associated with it.

Below you can see the 'Add New Item' button marked with an arrow, allowing us to add a new Manufacturer.
